The 2016 Partnership Forum and Business meeting of the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) took place on 18th and 19th October, 2016 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra. The Partnership Forum and Business meeting is an annual event convened by GAC as part of its mandate to coordinate and manage the National HIV & AIDS response.
The Forum provides opportunity to review progress on the implementation of HIV&AIDS activities, build consensus and galvanise technical and financial support for the next phase of implementation.
The Forum was organised under the theme; NSP 2016-2020: Sustainable partnership and resource mobilisation towards achieving 90-90-90. In attendance on the first day were partners from various sectors of the country: commissioners of GAC; heads of government institutions from all levels; development partners; civil society/ non-governmental organisations; educational and research institutions; persons living AIDS, the media etc.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Nii Noi Thompson. The meeting discussed issues that had to do with resource mobilisation strategies, partnership for the national HIV response. Partners delivered solidarity messages and pledged their support for the implementation of the National HIV &AIDS response and the achievement of the 90-90-90 targets.
