Technical Committee Review meeting on the Ghana Adolescent Reproductive Health (GHARH) Project, 15th November, NPC conference room, Accra.

The Technical Committee Review meeting took place in Accra at the National Population Council conference room on Tuesday 15th November, 2016. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Kwame Ampomah, Technical Advisor of the National Population Council (NPC). The meeting brought together Government IPs and NGOs from the National level, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti regions namely; Ghana Health Service (GHS), Ghana Education Service (GES), National Population Council (NPC), Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), National Youth Authority (NYA), Palladium Group and Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), Hope for Future Generations (HFFG) among others.

The purpose of the technical meeting was to disseminate information among IPs and NGOs with regards to the status of programme activities; harmonise Project plans and activities; formulate recommendations to address Project implementation gaps; propose sustainability strategies for the GHARH Project; and strengthen collaboration, coordination and corporation in the implementation of the GHARH Project and ASRH programming in general.

Key issues discussed at the meeting were progress made on year three implementation of the GHARH Project and implementation partners’ sustainability strategies for the Project. Also, implementation partners in the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti regions provided updates on activities they carried out. Furthermore, NPC presented findings from their monitoring visits to eight selected districts in the Brong Ahafo region namely Asunafo North, Techiman Municipal, Atebubu, Pru, Tano North, Tano South, Asutifi North and Asutifi South
